The Farmers Market is a beautiful opportunity for garden sales and display of one of the many attributes of Murrray LaSaine!
The Carnival at Hursey gave the students an opportunity to have fun and show off what they created. The garden classroom classes grew the plants for the art pots, and they made soaps for sale from they herbs they grew themselves!
When spring has arrived and the weather is gorgeous, the teachers and the students want to be outside.
We went outside to look for elements of art in our environment. We were able to find everything we were looking for in the playground area.
One of the hardest things to do for a child is to NOT play on the playground on a beautiful day, but they did it. They sat and studied its angles, curves, textures, the way it is put together, the colorful unity of all the components and the movement. I think the children were surprised at what they were able to draw themselves.
Next week, as we end our 2016-2017 school year, the students will continue the playground creations and construct a piece of our playground or make up their own. Should be an interesting week of craziness!! I do love my job! The creativity, the excitement, the love.. its all part of a child's mind, (and mine).
